long wanted to post this.. but procastinated. haha.
the very day i posted my previous post.. i just felt the urge to visit new creation's website. i dun usually visit it.. so i guessed the Holy Spirit was talking to me again. haha. immediately after watching the video sermon on "Nuggests of God's grace in the feeding of the five thousand", i knew why i was there. God wants to reaffirm my beliefs. All that pastor prince preached in that particular sermon has something to do with what i said in the previous post. Praise the Lord. =)
i have actually three pages full of notes in front of me now.. but i shall just type out the important stuff =) im glad minling took comfort in one sentence i mentioned.. so tt makes me wanna blog again =)
the only miracle that is mentioned in all four gospels.. john, luke, matthew and mark- feeding the five thousand.
John 6:1-13
5 Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?"6 But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.
learning point: long before you have a need, Jesus knows what He would do in your life. long before u face a trouble, Jesus knows what He would do.
7 Philip answered Him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little."
8 One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, 9 "There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?"learning point:
*philip sees the limit in the resources. he is judging based on the limited funds and not looking at Jesus. how can we talk about 'little' in front of someone of infinite power and infinite grace!
*andrew sees the greatness of need.
*both of them are pictures of you and i; our faith is so little
*faith is just looking at Jesus. You cannot remain the same when u look at Him, His glory, power and grace cos He said:"When u see me in my grace and power, i see u in your faith" Although we dun see the results immediately, but the moment we look at Jesys, something has happen to your needs from its very ROOTS. Amen!
*example of marriage: many ppl postpone their marriage cos lack of funds. again they are looking at the limit in resources. just fix a date by faith and the supply will flow! (i believe tt i shud just go ahead with my applications without considering my tuition fees cos i believe God will supply me if He brings me to it. This sermon reaffirms by beliefs. praise the Lord)
*altho we dun have strong faith.. thank God that "God will supply ALL your needs not by the smallnest or poverty of your faith, but by the riches of His grace!!!"
10 Then Jesus said, "Make the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. learning point:
*how to recieve God's supply: SIT DOWN!! wait on the Lord and dont get into the rat race of the world.
*example: its hard to take care of a child when he keeps running around
*"make the people sit down"- God will make u do something natural, then He will do the supernatural! e.g He makes the blind man 'go to the pool' ; He makes the lame man 'pick ur ur bed'.. before he did the supernatural!!
*God supplies all the time, but we need to find the switch.
11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples[a] to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.
learning point:
*Thank God for small things, give thanks to the Father for the little and it will multiply like the loaves! (i am glad i thanked God for the choice of birmingham He left for me.. i believe everything will multiply)
*Thank God for what little u have and you will please God. When God is pleased, miracles happen.
*God uses the weak and the despised cos when it's been used, everyone knows it is God.
*"as much as they wanted"- people limits the supply but supply is always more than the need. Once the supply starts, it cannot stop.
*God's mathematics is not like the world. Although he broke the loaves, it mutliplied. Something that is divided should get smaller.. but in God's mathematics, its multiplication for division and addition for subtraction! amen!
*If u subtract something in ur life:money, time, energy for Jesus, it is added back to you! Whatever u divide for His glory is multiplied back to you 100 fold!
12 So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost." 13 Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten. 14 Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, "This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world."learning point:
*12 baskets full- 1 each for each disciple. the disciples were busy serving the multitude.
*Hence, take time to serve the Lord, He will not forget you.
Other learning points:
*if u dun want Jesus, He will not come and save you, even though He wants to save you. you got to invite Him to come into ur life! you got to invite Him to bless you! He is such a gentlemen, He will not force His blessings into ur life. God made us with a free choice and God will not violate your free choice.
*see the Jesus in the bible, not the Jesus of people's preaching and teaching that makes Him look small.
